Due to supply-chain constraints or any other reasons, expected inventory may occasionally be delayed. For all pre-orders, OMS integrates with merchants' Marketing Automation Platform to notify the customers of updated promised dates. Merchants accept pre-orders on multiple items every day. So, inventory delays can impact many pre-orders. Therefore, merchandisers prefer a daily summary of these date changes, to verify if the updated promise dates are communicated to customers or not. The Daily Promise Date Changed Report shows all date changes made for previously accepted Pre-Orders.   ## What the report shows The report covers the last 24 hours. Each row is a pre-order whose promised date moved. - **Order references:** the Shopify order ID and the purchase order ID. - **Promise dates:** the previous promised date and the updated promised date. - **Customer:** the customer's name and email address.   ## How teams use it Merchandisers use the report to confirm that every customer with a changed date was told about it. When a notification was missed, the customer service team can reach out directly using the contact details in the report. Grouping rows by purchase order shows which delayed purchase orders affect the most customers, so the team knows where to push suppliers first. The size of the date change matters too. A delay of a few days may only need a notice, while a long delay may lead the team to offer an alternative or a cancellation before the customer has to ask. Reviewing the report every morning keeps the customer communication loop tight, so customers hear about a delay from the brand instead of discovering it when their order does not arrive.
