Applying a single carrier strategy across a diverse network can limit efficiency and increase costs. HotWax Commerce now incorporates Facility and Shipment Method level Carrier Assignment. This enhancement provides the control to set up detailed, location-aware shipping policies by allowing administrators to define carrier routing rules based on two key dimensions: - 1\. Shipping Method: Differentiate carrier selection for Standard, Expedited, etc. - 2\. Origin Facility: Assign specific carriers to handle methods from designated facilities. Here’s how this works in practice: • Regional Optimization: Assign Carrier A for Standard shipments from the West Coast facility and Carrier C for the same method from the East Coast hub. • Service Level Guarantee: Mandate Carrier B for all Expedited orders network-wide to ensure SLA adherence. Using this feature allows retailers to: • Reduce Costs: Align shipments with the most cost-effective carrier for that method and location. • Improve Performance: Enhance delivery speed and reliability using carriers known to perform well in certain areas or for certain services. • Increase Agility: Quickly adapt to changes in carrier rates or performance. This feature is a strategic tool for fine-tuning fulfillment operations, helping you manage logistics more effectively and save costs.
