Inventory Rules Compatibility with Shopify Order Routing

HotWax Commerce’s inventory rules have improved compatibility with Shopify order routing, providing retailers with better control over inventory sync between OMS and Shopify.

Retailers using Shopify’s order routing need a one-to-one mapping of locations between HotWax and Shopify for accurate inventory tracking. With this update, syncing inventory from HotWax to Shopify becomes more flexible, allowing better management of online availability.

Key Updates

  • Store-Level Inventory Suppression: Retailers can suppress online inventory for specific store or warehouse locations directly in HotWax, so that Shopify’s routing logic excludes those locations when fulfilling online orders. For example, if online orders should not be routed to the Broadway store, disabling the store in HotWax will automatically suppress its inventory in Shopify, preventing Shopify from considering it for order fulfillment.

  • Product-Level Inventory Suppression: Retailers can suppress the online availability of specific products at a store location while aligning with Shopify’s routing. For example, if a special edition cap is meant to be sold exclusively at the Miami store for in-store purchases, suppressing its inventory in HotWax will remove its availability for online sales in Shopify for the Miami location.

Retailers can configure these inventory rules and more using HotWax’s dedicated ATP App, offering greater flexibility to manage store and product availability within Shopify’s routing framework.
