When merchandisers manually allocate inventory for Pre-Orders, they already know how much inventory is consumed by existing pre-orders. However, when the system automatically allocates the inventory, merchandisers have no idea how much inventory is available to promise, which orders have been allocated the inventory and which one’s haven’t. Therefore, merchandisers prefer a daily summary of all pre-orders for which inventory is allocated automatically. The Daily Released Pre-Order report gives a daily summary of all the pre-orders for which the Pre-Order Management System has automatically allocated the inventory.   ## What the report shows Each row is a pre-order line that received inventory, with how the release happened. - **Order references:** the HotWax Commerce order ID and the Shopify order ID. - **Product:** the style, UPC or SKU, color, and size. - **Units released:** the units allocated to the pre-order. - **Auto released:** whether the release happened automatically or manually.   ## How teams use it Merchandisers use the report to confirm that automatic allocation reached the right orders once inventory arrived, which they would otherwise have no easy way to see. Once pre-orders have their inventory, the remaining stock opens up for regular orders, so knowing what was released helps the team plan the rest of the purchase order. The report also helps customer service. When a customer asks whether a pre-order is on its way, the team can confirm whether inventory was released to that order and whether the release happened automatically or was done by hand. Merchandisers who release some orders by hand can also see how much of each day's allocation still depends on manual work.
