When rejecting an item due to stockouts or other issues, it’s possible that the same item is part of multiple orders. The new Collateral Rejection toggle in the Fulfillment App allows automatic rejection of the same item in all other orders. The scope of this feature depends on if partial rejection is enabled or disabled:
-
If partial rejection is enabled: Only the selected item will be rejected from all related orders. The rest of the items in those orders will still remain at the allocated facility.
-
If partial rejection is disabled: All orders containing the selected product will be rejected when an item is rejected, not just the individual item in those orders.
For example, if a Trek Jacket order item is rejected, and partial rejection is enabled, only the Trek Jacket is rejected in all pending orders that include it. However, if partial rejection is disabled, all pending orders containing the Trek Jacket are rejected entirely.
This update offers greater choice in the rejection process by allowing retailers to choose how rejections impact their fulfillment workflow.
